Literature Text

A tickling in the back of my mind
And I remember:
Though it has been a while.
The moon was full that night
And I was hazy
With bottles of summer's fever;
Distilled three times.
The grass tickled my bare back
I focused on its coolness and the smell of earth.
Distracted me from the hot hands
Restraining me.
I watched the swaying of the leaves above
And wished to be like the wind,
To slip away.
Through the haze, I think
I wondered where you'd put my dress
And where everyone else was.
But I could never block out your words
"You're beautiful, so beautiful"
As I turned my head to the side and wept.
A very personal poem about something I haven't written about in a while.

Smooth tone for such a rough subject. Well done.
